WMD in Iraq - Bad intelligence or convoluted lies?
- We knew the aluminium tubes were not weapons-development quality.
- We knew the was no yellow-cake deal. (Google: Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson).
- There were no ongoing chemical weapons programs (just satellite photos of trucks).
- The Clinton administration had identified and addressed Iraq WMD in 1998 (Google away).
- Intense scrutiny by U.N. and U.S. inspectors found absolutely nothing.
There were 9/11 Connections to Iraq - Mistaken identity, or outright lie?
- 9/11 attack was financed entirely by dissident religious fanatic Saudi Arabians.
- 9/11 attack was conducted entirely by dissident religious fanatic Saudi Arabians.
- The 9/11 attackers were based in Afghanistan, supported by the Taliban regime.
- Religious fanatic Saudi Arabians hated Sadam as much as anyone.
- Meeting in German between Iraq secret police and Al Queida member went nowhere.
Sadam: danger to stability in the region - Hallucination or absurd lie?
- 10 years after Gulf War, Iraq had no air force and no navy.
- 10 years after Gulf War, Iraq had no missiles and no secrets.
- 10 years after Gulf War, Iraq's only friend was Jordan.
Sadam: clear and present danger to the U.S. - Bizarre paranoia or bare-faced lie?
- U.S. was alert after 9/11. If an Arab sneezed anywhere in the world, we knew.
- U.S. enforced no-fly zone over 2/3 of Iraq.
- U.S. embargoed Iraq ports.
- Al Queida terrorist were not present in Iraq and not tolerated in Iraq.
- U.S. had a choke hold on Iraq already, and could crush Iraq any time.
Destroy Sadam to make U.S. safer - Insane fantasy or calculated lie?
- War would likely create thousands or even tens of thousands of new terrorists.
- War would squander worldwide support after 9/11.
- War would cost billions of dollars, almost entirely U.S. funded.
and then... during brief war and after major hostilities ended...
- War would kill tens of thousands of Iraq civilians.
- War would kill and maim thousands of U.S. military.
- War exposed American stupidity, propensity for torture, and greed.
- War alarmed and emboldened other brutal regimes in Iran and Korea.
- War inflamed anti-American and anti-western passions world-wide.
Bush is a war president - Dumb or dumber?
- As a young man, Bush served drinks to friends in bars and avoided Vietnam.
- Bush had not read and does not read, and may be functionally illiterate.
- Bush memorizes talking points, but does not think.
- Bush believes divine guidance told him to go to war.
- The Bush administration allowed post-war Iraq to fall into anarchy.
- The Bush administration failed to prepare for insurgency.
- The Bush administration failed to rally the world to the cause.
- The Bush administration promotes bullys and cronies beyond their abilities.
- The Bush administration failed to properly arm and armor the military.
- The Bush administration promoted torture.
Not much of a war president, if you ask me.
So, what was true?
Well, in the years prior to the invasion of Iraq:
- U.S. had armed Iraq during Iran-Iraq war, and knew well what the Iraq army had.
- U.S. had reduced the Iraq army to an empty shell.
- U.S. had destroyed Iraq communication and radar capability.
- U.S. had been attacked by Al Queida in several Muslim countries.
- There was a rumor that Sadam had once plotted to assassinate Bush - 1.
Then, after the 9/11 attack:
- U.S. had to get out of Saudi bases pronto.
- U.S. needed some place to go.
- War in Afghanistan was small, and they have no oil.
- War in Iraq would be big.
- The world already knew Sadam was a bloody dictator.
- Even most of the other Arabs hated him.
- Iraq has buckets of oil.
- War is good for (Cheney's) business.
- The NeoCons are on the war path.
- Iraq is a step on the NeoCon path to world domination and empire.
Google Neoconservative for more (but be sure to bring a barf bag), such as:

among many, many others.
Now, go figure.
I think the war was based on lies.
I don't think they (Bush/Cheney) care.
I care about that.
I think Bush should be impeached for lying to the American people and the world.
I think Cheney, Wolfowitz, Gonzolaz, Rice, Rumsfold, Rove, and Libby
should be indicted, along with the rest of the warmongering pack of fools
responsible for the ongoing neoconservative insanity, for crimes against humanity
including mass murder of civilians in Iraq, tragic death and injury to combatants
on all sides in Iraq, torture and death of detainees in Iraq and elsewhere,
and utter stupidity in the war on terror.
What do you think?
