Tuesday, June 6, Sharonville, Ohio

Another incredibly fine day to protest the ongoing disaster in Iraq, as republican women install new officers a few blocks away at the Sharonville Community Center and water park. I chose a more well-travelled corner at Sharon and Reading to mark the event.

There were plenty of supporting honks, waves, and calls of encouragement.

There were plenty of objections, too. Some quite vile!

As usual, supporers outnumbered the others by a large margin.

I was only there about 45 minutes, but saw several cops cruising by. One Sharonville cop went by three times, giving me a very cold eye every time. A couple of Evendale cops went by, and one even yelled something I took to be negative, though I couldn't tell what it was.

This was the view looking north on Reading, toward I-275.

A close-up. Recognize anyone?

This fellow stopped and said he wouldn't let me take a picture of the sign.

I said "OK!" Anybody you know?

This is the view looking south, along Reading Road toward the town of Reading.

And this is the view facing east. Much of the traffic came from the west
from the GE Plant. On real beefy guy with his whole family in his pickup
said "Get a f**king job and support the troops you stinking piece of s**t."
An older couple jogging up Reading looked at the sign and the woman said,
"Oh, I don't care about that, I'm against gay marriage."

Yessiree, Sharonville.
Some of it's most outspoke denizens are willing and able to display their
propensity to be shallow, insular, hostile, narrow-minded, paranoid, and vile.

Notice:
Today's sign event is dedicated to my cat, Max, who at 17 years of age can be counted upon to regularly deposit his business on newspapers full of the words and images of our current administration.

More fun later,

Ray
