Tuesday, April 18, Hartmann at QCC

The Scenes: Another fundraiser at the Queen City Club, 331 E. 4th Street, again for Hartmann at $150 per person.

I was there from 5 to 6. There were not many attendees by the time I left (I do have a life), but those that showed up by 6:00 to to see the sign. It was also seen by some Reds fans too.

Lots of supporters, as usual, with beeps and waves and "I'm with you" and "We care" calls from cars and from passers-by. One older gentleman who looked a bit like Paul Neuman said (to my surprise) "You've got that right, they're lying crooks."

It was pretty slow, really, so I had time to experiment a bit with pictures.

There were some negatives, also as usual. A "go bush" and a "bush rules" went by in cars. There was one lame bird (sideways, with thumb up, like a handgun) and there were two laughing clowns. One fellow came up from behind me with a comment on "Indict Cheney." "For what, being a bad shot?" he said, and without turning I said "No, for being an a**hole." The speaker turned out to be a reds fan with his kid, both in reds shirts and hats. Then I said "This is the vice president for torture." After the guy and his kid got across the street, he made some kind of mocking remark I could not really hear. I said, "go watch a ballgame and don't worry about the war, somebody else is taking care of it"

The emperor has no clothes.

More fun later,

Ray
