The Scenes: Downtown at 7th and Walnut, 19 East 7th Street, by the Aronoff

First I parked and walked to the corner of 7th and Vine, a nice busy corner with one-way traffic heading north on Vine and East on 7th.

Then I went to hang out at McFadden's for the campaign kick-off from 6 - 9 p.m. for Rob Thornton, running for State Representative from the 33rd District.

The McFadden people were not too happy to see me again, so they sent out a dolly to do a counter-protest.

She lasted about ten minutes, and was replaced by what passes for a manager there, but he only lasted about five minutes. Somebody called him an idiot and that was it for him.

To my surprise and great pleasure, I got to meet and greet the candidate, Bob Thornton, and he seemed like a pretty good guy. We had a good laugh togehter as we exchanged business cards.

We said we'd check out each other's websites.

There wasn't really much traffic going by or into McFaddens but I could see hordes of people down the street, so after a while I went down to 7th and Walnut, by the Aronoff and Jeff Ruby's, to see what was up. Turns out it was a big night at the theater with Peter Pan on stage, and tons of families coming for the show.

I stayed till after showtime, then wandered back to McF's. It was very dull by then, so I called it a night. There had been lots of reinforcement, a little negativity, and many thank-you messages. Even so, I hope we get rid of those bozos in Washington and get the hell out of Iraq real soon.

More fun later,

Ray
