In the morning, 7-8:00 a.m for Steve Chabot Campaign Kickoff Breakfast at the Hyatt Regency downtown with speaker John McCain, followed in the evening at Jospeh Beth Booksellers in Rookwood at 7 p.m. by Kevin Phillips, speaking and signing copies of his new book, "American Theocracy: The Peril and Politics of Radical Religion, Oil and Borrowed Money in the 21st Century."

Once again, I had company. Atia and Bob brought signs, too.

There were a few strong supporters, and a few loud detractors, but overall
it was a beautiful morning.
At 8:00, after I put my sign away, I took in business cards for Chabot
and McCain. I hope they got their cards.

Then I went to work. After a long and mostly successful day, I met Leah
for dinner and a talk at Joseph Beth.

We got the last of the front row seats.

Kevin Phillips is a very good speaker.

Leah and I were first in line for the book signing, and Mr. Phillips was
generous with his time.

I gave Mr. Phillips my card and asked if he'd like to sign my sign.
He said he might like to but that he would decline, because it might
not be a good idea. I didn't really have time to mention that Joseph Wilson
and Ray McGovern had already signed it. Maybe next time...
More fun later,
Ray
