Monday, March 27, 2006, McEwen Blue ChipThe SceneBlue Chip Republican Club meeting, 7 p.m. at Monty's on Montgomery, 4108 Montgomery Road, with Bob McEwen booked as speaker.
Everyone was very civil this evening, although somewhat distant. I think a lot of people have come to terms with the sign, now, and there are probably fewer staunch defenders of the war and the administration. One attendee, Ohio governor candidate Jim Petro, told me he was against illegal wire taps and had voted against the patriot act in the Ohio statehouse and had also opposed the war in Iraq. Go figure. Mr. Petro also told me I should have gone instead to the Butler County Lincoln Day Dinner at the Sharonville Convention Center were the bushie chief of staff Andrew Card was speaking. Actually, I'd hoped to run into an old friend outside Monty's, but it started to get dark and a bit chilly around 7:15, so I split. Maybe next time. More fun later, Ray Written March 27, 2006 |
