The Scene

Congresswoman Deborah Pryce Fundraiser, 5:30-7 p.m. Jim Orr, Chairman & CEO of Convergys hosts a reception at the Convergys Global HQ (Atrium 1 - 9th Floor - 201 East Fourth Street) Fee: PAC - $2,500; Friend - $500; Protester (gets to stand outside) - Free

This side of the building looks like a well-stacked pile of poker chips. This is just 2 blocks from the queen city club, where I was in a snowstorm yesterday.

One of my downtown buddies, Avtar, spotted me as I went by a coffee shop, and joined me for long enough to tell me about the expected next bush visit to toss out the first ball for spring baseball. He also took the photo of me holding the sign. Perhaps I'll take time off for opening day with the Reds (how ironic) this year!

The sunset was brilliant, almost painfully so, but I was able to share the sign of the times with lots of people, including a bus load of Convergys people from out of town.

One suit was rude and shared a moment of yelling insults with me. A couple of other suits exchanged more reasonable words. One said he loved bush. I told them bush was our most stupid president ever, bar none. I also told them the sign was an intelligence test, and that they could try again later. I thought I was going to have to leave without having a flipped bird from anybody, but just as I was deciding to head for the car a young guy in a yellow mustang made an ass of himself, almost as if on cue. As always, I got plenty of beeps and waves of support, and some "thanks for doing this" and "thanks for saying this so loudly" from people.

The weather was a bit cool, but way better than yesterday.

More fun later,

Ray
